Mass among the hairdriers in Granada village

The recent storms of rain and snow in the Granada village of Belerda, close to Guadix, resulted in the collapse of the village church on December 28.

Life must go on however, and the village priest, Salvador Cifuentes, has said that the important thing is the people who attend mass, not where it is held. And that’s just as well as now the faithful are taking mass in the social salon where it shares space with the hairdressers. Screens have been set up to separate the two areas.

There is no date on the end of the arrangement. New financing is needed before repairs can be made to the church.
