Complete power cut across Tenerife
Tenerife saw a complete power failure across the entire island on Thursday. The break started at noon and power company Endesa say they do not know the cause of the break in the connection to the Las Caletillas power station.
By four pm. power had been restored to about 20% of the island, and by Friday morning 70% of clients had their power back.
The two airports on the island were not affected by the power outage as both are equipped with their own emergency generators, although flights were disrupted because of the weather.
It comes as school classes were suspended for the second day because of continuing bad weather, and with winds gusting 120km/hour in some areas.
