Tigers close Spanish motorway for a time
A traffic accident on Tuesday involving a Portuguese Circus lorry on the A-52 motorway at Rías Bajas in Zamora resulted in the road being closed for a time.
The lorry was carrying four tigers and as the animals were traumatised by the accident and moving in their cages it was considered dangerous to use a crane to move the vehicle.
Vets were called to tranquilise the animals so that the vehicle could be moved.
The road, having been closed in the early hours only re-opened to traffic come two in the afternoon.
