Spain go through to the second round of the Davis Cup
David Ferrer got the third and decisive point for Spain to reach the next round of the Davis Cup by beating Warwrinka from Switzerland, 6-2,6-4 and 6-0. The man from Alicante won 11 games on the trot against a tired opponent.
Nicolás Almagro, from Murcia, beat Marci Chiundinelli (6-1 and 6-3) to take the final score for Spain 4-1 against the Swiss.
