Real Madrid are the new leaders of the Primera Liga after they fought back from 0-2 down to finally win 3-2 against Sevilla at the Bernabeu. Even the heroic acts of Palop, the Sevilla goalkeeper could not stop Real picking up the three points.
Earlier Barcelona could do no better than a 2-2 draw in Almería in a game marked by the actions of the referee who sent Pep Guardiola off the pitch.

Atlético de Madrid got a single point in Zaragoza, suffering from the absence of Reyes who was sent off in the 68th minute.

Xerez had their fourth win of the season away at Málaga, the result 2-4.

Three policemen were injured in fights between Betis and Rayo fans, as 14 fans from each side have been arrested. There were incidents around the stadium in Sevilla all day.
