The Director of the Museu Valencià de la II.lustració i la Modernitat (MuVIM) presented his resignation on Monday following the furore over an exhibition of press photos from the Valencia region from last year.

He told the press that he had resigned as he was not in agreement with the decision of the Valencia Provincial Government to censure part of the show by removing the photos which showed some of the personalities implicated in the Gürtel corruption case.

Speaking to Europa Press he said the order to remove the photos had come ‘from the top’ and he was resigning to defend his dignity.

Last Friday the Diputación de Valencia had claimed that the removal of the ten photos was an internal decision from the Culture Department and was agreed by the M.P. Salvador Enguix and Román de la Calle.
