Spain Weather - Tuesday March 9 2010

There will be an improvement in the weather conditions across the country as today continues, with rain or snow clearing as the day goes on to give a sunny afternoon in practically all areas, except the Canaries where the cloud will be more persistent.

However before the cloud clears it will leave heavy and persistent rain in the area of the Strait and more snow in NE Cataluña, the south of Extremadura and on high ground in Andalucía.

The snow line will run from 0-300m in the north to 300-500m on the Baleares and between 500 and 900m in Andalucía.
Winds, weak to moderate northerly, but with strong gusts on the Galician and Catalan coasts and on the Baleares.

Outlook
The weather takes a pause tomorrow when most of the country should see the sunshine and many areas will be dry. However a new Atlantic front crosses Spain from Thursday bringing more rain from south to north.
The forecast for the weekend is looking better for the south of the country, and there is a general improvement in Cataluña.
