A Guardia Civil is among a gang of nine Spaniards and Romanian burglars which has been active in the areas of Murcia and Alicante and which has now been caught by the authorities. The armed gang worked at night and threatened the owners of the properties they attacked, always successful businessmen.
The latest case was in Santiago de la Ribera in Murcia where they held a man tied up all night until his wife brought them 3,000 € in cash and promised to supply 20,000 € more the following day.
One businessman in Dolores de Pacheco in Murcia paid 30,000 € to see his car returned after it had been stolen the previous day.
