An exhibition, ‘Turner and the Maestros’ opens today, Tuesday June 22, in the Prado in Madrid.

It has been organised by the Tate Britain, in collaboration with the Grand Palais in Paris and the Reunion des Musées Nationaux, and has been shown already in London and Paris.

The chosen works are intended to suggest a dialogue between Turner’s most relevant works, and those from the maestros of other times.

The exhibition consists of 80 works, 42 of them from the British painter, from institutions and European and United States collections. There are some changes from the show seen in London and Paris.

The exhibition continues at the Prado until September 19. During the summer months of July and August it will be open from 9am to 10pm. More details at www.museodeprado.es
