52 Sub-Saharan immigrants rescued in the Strait
52 Sub-Saharan immigrants have been rescued from the Strait of Gibraltar today, Thursday, 22 of them women and nine of them children.
The 112 emergency number received a call at 0815, from a woman who said that her husband was on the boat, and the boat was then found when seven miles from Tarifa after the Sasemar 101 coastguard aircraft was scrambled.
The Government sub-delegate in Cádiz said the numbers on board were provisional as the Alkaid coastguard boat was bringing the immigrants into port at Tarifa where medical assistance is standing by.
