Villarreal to play in the Europa League
UEFA has told Villarreal that they will play in the forthcoming Europa League after footballs leading body removed Mallorca from the competition because of the economic problems at the club which is under bankruptcy protection.
Mallorca has said, however, that they will appeal against the decision.
It comes after Villarreal finished 7th in the Spanish league last season. It means the Castellón side will have will have to take part in the qualifying rounds of the competition which starts as early as August 19.
