Parts of Madrid, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha and Andalucia could reach 40 degrees.
The Spanish state meteorological agency AEMET has issued Orange Alerts, where temperaturas could reach 40 degrees for Cáceres, Badajoz, Madrid, Toledo, Ciudad Real, Córdoba and Jaén. Yellow alerts with temperatures upto 36 degrees have been issued in Zamora, Salamanca, Galicia, Navarra, Zaragoza, Huesca, Teruel, Guadalajara, Cuenca, Albacete, Valencia, Alicante, Murcia, Granada, Sevilla, Huelva and the Islas Canarias.
Occasional showers possible in the east of Cataluña, locally moderate and occasionally stormy. Very cloudy in the far north, and with cloudy intervals along the Andalucia coast where there is the chance of an isolated stormy shower.
Cloudy on the north of the Canaries.
Winds will be generally light to moderate Northerly in the north of the country and on the coasts of the Canaries, with strong intervals along the Galician coast and in the Ebro valley.
Levante moderate in the Strait.
