British mountaineer found and rescued unhurt from the Pyrenees

The 59 year old British mountaineer who has been missing since Tuesday on the Russell peak, in the upper Aragón region of Huesca Pyrenees in Spain, has been located unhurt today, Thursday.

The missing woman, named as Margaret Elisabeth H, from Wales, failed to return from a walk with her husband who raised the alarm and started the search on Wednesday afternoon. The search, both on the ground and by helicopter was restarted Thursday morning.

She was found in the area of Llausets, in the municipality of Benasque, after spending two nights on the mountain in a small refuge. She was airlifted to safety by a Guardia Civil helicopter which was taking part in the search.
