Last year hold ups of more than 200 kms were formed on the Saturday between 1 and 2pm.
25 provinces and the Canaries are now on weather alert because of the high temperatures.
Cáceres, Badajoz, Madrid, Toledo, Ciudad Real, Córdoba and Jaén are on orange alert where temperaturas could reach 40 degrees, while Zamora,Salamanca, Galicia, Navarra, Zaragoza, Huesca,Teruel, Guadalajara, Cuenca, Albacete, Valencia,Alicante, Murcia, Granada, Sevilla, Huelva
and the Canaries are on Yellow Alert where temperatures could reach 36 degrees.
Occasional showers will continue in the east of Cataluña, and indeed were seen at the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona on Thursday.
It’s expected to be slightly cooler along the western Andalucia coast and unchanged on the Baleares.
Winds will be weak to moderate N in general in the northern half of the peninsular and on the Canary coast, with strong gusts along the Galician coast and the Ebro Valley.
Levante moderate winds in the Strait.

After Sunday temperatures will fall as cloud starts to cross the country from the NW, bringing rain on Monday to Cataluña and the Pyrenees.
