Indian sets new record for swimming the Strait of Gibraltar
An Indian swimmer has established a new record in crossing the Strait of Gibraltar.
Using backstroke and without any neoprene suit, 20 year old Tejeh Vishnu Pesekar made the crossing in 5 hours 20 minutes, beating the previous record set by the Spaniard, Carlos Peña in 1994.
His achievement was confirmed by the ACNEG, the Association which supervises swims across the Strait.
He swam from Tarifa to Perejil island.
