AVALON FUNERAL PLANS supports local charities…

Avalon Funeral Plans celebrates a year of fundraising for local charities

Employees at Avalon Funeral Plans are celebrating a year of successful fundraising for local charities across the region throughout 2020 – a year in which the pandemic’s impacts mean charities and their services are more reliant on fundraising than ever before.

Every year, Avalon employees commit to supporting charities across the regions in which they operate and, despite the challenges 2020 brought to companies and expats alike, this year was no different.

Whether it’s making donations or attending and sponsoring local events to raise funds, their employees are dedicated to making a difference to the charities they support.  One such charity is Help at Home, Costa Blanca.  Help at Home provide support to vulnerable people in the local expat community including advice on accessing benefits and carers and care homes, alongside providing a friendly face to talk to.

Avalon also supports selected charities to showcase their great work by supporting the funding of their events and charity shops, as they so with Lions La Cala and Lions Diabetic Support Group who provide important support for the local community in Malaga, including caring for the environment, and help for vulnerable people.

In addition to this, they have also supported the Samaritans in Spain at a time when the need for access to mental health charities and services are as important as ever.

Numerous other charities have been supported by Avalon across the year including Easy Horse Care, a rescue centre for neglected horses, ponies and donkeys; The Royal British Legion who provide support for the armed forces community; and Alzheimer and Dementia Support International (ADSI) who support people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia and their carers, to name but a few.

This year’s charity fundraising follows a period of success for Avalon in what has been a challenging year for many businesses.  They recently took home the coveted title of ‘Best Funeral Plan Provider’ for the second year running at the 2020 Personal Finance Awards.  This award recognises Avalon’s dedication to its customers, as well as the high standard of its customer service.

Speaking about this year’s fundraising efforts, Avalon’s CEO, Susan Stevenson, said: “Caring for families is a fundamental part of what we do, and this year we have provided peace of mind for thousands of bereaved families through our funeral plans.

We have seen first-hand the impact of the pandemic on families and charities and it was more important than ever this year that we continue to support charities across the region so they can continue to provide support to the people who need it most.

We are so proud to be able to support a large variety of charities across the region who all provide such important services to support their local communities.  From charities that provide support to vulnerable people, our armed forces, or animal rescue centres, we are pleased that every penny donated to these charities will go towards helping the communities who need it most”

A spokesperson from Help at Home said ‘We are delighted with the support we will receive from Avalon. Avalon have donated a stand and various marketing aids to help the team when they are doing events and raising money for the charity.’
